My buddy "wrecked" his JK and the insurance company offered him to buy it back and I might be interested in buying it from him.

The frame and rails in the front "appear" to be straight, but there is some structural damage as shown in the pictures, to the radiator components, and support rails.

I can get a really good deal on this jeep if I buy it from him through his insurance, but I wanted to see what others think.
It runs, no airbag deployment and has lower miles.

Curious what he hit that did that damage but didn't fire the airbag? You say you can get a good deal but what are you basing that on? You can "nickel and dime" yourself way passed the value of buying an equivalent unmolested vehicle. Bolting on a bunch of replacement parts is probably only scratching the surface with this one imo.

Lumber sticking straight out from a transport truck.

My basis is that I can buy this jeep for under $5k, and it's unlimited, rubicon 2017 model.

I get your point ! I'm just looking for a second jeep that I can use on the road, but more equivalent for off-roading.

Thanks for the added info! I have a bit different viewpoint, now, knowing it would not be a primary vehicle. I throw this into the project/toy vehicle category and as long as you like a good project (who doesn't on this forum..) and would enjoy the journey than its probably a reasonable deal. I have had many and the process has always been fun for me. Some have ended up being money pits, but you win some and you lose some...

If you get it, take us along for the ride!
