Hey guys and gals, having a ticking noise when jeep is up to temp. Only from the passenger side heard from the wheel well. Driver side is quiet.

New rockers and lifters, oil cooler, pvc, and plugs.

Running pennzoil platinum 5w-20 full synth.

Jeep is a 2014 with the 3.6

Any advice on what could still be causing it would be appreciated!

Did the whole motor get new lifters and rockers? Were the cams inspected for wear?

Yep. All new rockers and lifters. New plugs and pcv as well.

Cams were inspected and did not display any scoring so they were reused.

It only makes the noise after the jeep is up to temp. At cold start and even as it idles down the sound is not present.

Passenger side only. Drivers side sounds normal.

Man...thats tough. Mine is doing the same thing except, I know I need my passenger side replaced. Did it start ticking right after the work was done or it slowly happen?

Unfortunately the tick was there before the work and after it sounds the same.

Is yours only ticking after it’s warmed up as well? And not at startup?

Yep. Nothing when I start it but definitely tick tick tick tick shortly after.

Yeah super frustrating.

I think I may pull the two inspection plugs and see if I can take a look at the flex plate to rule that out.

I just don’t understand why the sound is only happening when everything is nice and warm. Some sort of thermal expansion causing the tolerance difference somewhere or if the oil is thinned out and causing improper lubrication still.

Stumped on this one.
